Makeup & More - Joanna Łukijańczuk

I have been working professionally in makeup for 20 years. It is my job as well as my great passion.

I have experience working as a special effects makeup artist on film and commercial sets, as a makeup artist on photo shoots and fashion shows, for television programmes, and in creating occasion makeup.

 My favourite trend is world glamour. Makeup in this style remains natural. You do not lose your personality, but depending on the individual's beauty and style, the emphasis is placed on highlighting either the eyes or the lips. In this type of makeup, there are not too many layers and no heavy contouring. The makeup is designed to make a person feel better and look fresh and healthy. It is a "portrait" makeup meant to highlight what is beautiful in a person and only subtly conceal any potential imperfections.

 Today, the focus is on individuality in makeup. People are well-educated when it comes to beauty; women are increasingly conscious and self-accepting, while refusing to be defined by their age. Today's 50-year-old woman looks at least 10 years younger. Self-aware, self-accepting women know that they can and want to look better without losing their everyday naturalness.

 The MAKEUP AND MORE project is tailored precisely for such women.

Of course, we offer a full spectrum of makeup, and for important occasions and big nights out, we can get creative. Sometimes we just feel the need for a subtle transformation. If it is a truly important event, there is no point in taking risks, and it is best to book an appointment with a professional. On the other hand, for everyday wear, we can limit ourselves to a few well-chosen cosmetics and, using a few tricks, enhance our appearance while preserving our natural beauty.

 Another topic I want to address in the MAKEUP AND MORE project is male makeup. The belief that makeup is something effeminate and too frivolous for men is incorrect. Everyone, regardless of gender, should have the opportunity to enhance their appearance through both skincare and makeup.

 Around the world, this perception is gradually changing. In Poland as well, men are breaking stereotypes and unashamedly using the services of hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, aesthetic medicine treatments, and slowly, male makeup. Everyone, both women and men, should have the freedom of choice whether they want to wear makeup or not, and to what extent.

 There is beauty in every face. In the makeup I create, I strive to highlight that beauty even further.

 My goal is to apply makeup in a way that allows the person to remain themselves, just a slightly enhanced version.
